L/C Magnetics is a Custom Shielded Transformers specialist. All our Shielded Transformers are custom built to order. A shielded transformer is designed with an electrostatic shield, typically made of copper or aluminum, placed between the primary and secondary windings to reduce electrical noise and minimize capacitive coupling. This shielding is to help improve isolation from the windings and prevents high-frequency interference. By grounding the shield, the transformer can block electromagnetic interference (EMI) and leakage currents. The isolation between primary and secondary is tested at 3000 VAC Hi-pot.
