SCOTT T TRANSFORMER
28 KVA, P/N 19508N

Scott T Transformers offer two single-phase outputs and not one single-phase output.

Scott T Transformers cannot be used to create only one single-phase output.

Test # 1 of P/N 19508N

Test Set Up (MAIN and TEASER are not connected in series)

Test Results:

  • Input Voltage V (A, B) = 286 VAC
  • Input Voltage V (A, C) = 287 VAC
  • Input Voltage V (B, C) = 284 VAC
  • Line A Current = 2.67 Amps
  • Line B Current = 2.64 Amps
  • Line A Current = 2.53 Amps
  • Output MAIN (X1, X2) = 124 VAC, 4.97 Amps
  • Output TEASER (Y1, Y2) = 123 VAC, 4.73 Amps

Conclusions:

  1. When MAIN and TEASER are not connected in series, input currents are balance.

Test # 2 of P/N 19508N

Test Set Up (MAIN and TEASER are connected in series)

Test Results:

  • Line A Current =  4.15 Amps
  • Line B Current = 1.0  Amps
  • Line A Current = 3.0  Amps
  • Output MAIN (X1, X2) = 106 VAC
  • Output TEASER (Y1, Y2) = 106 VAC
  • V (X1, Y2) = 150 VAC

Conclusions:

  1. V (MAIN) and V (TEASER) = V (Sum) / √2
  2. Input currents are not balanced. I (H1) = I (H2) + I (H3) approximately
