SINGLE TURN GAPPED INDUCTOR, 1 uH, 5000 Amps, 2 kHz, P/N 9190L1

The 5000 AMP SINGLE TURN GAPPED INDUCTOR is essentially a specialized inductor with only one loop of conductor and a gap in the core material that controls magnetic characteristics. This single turn design allows very high current to flow with minimal reactance, and the core gap increases the saturation current threshold so it won’t easily saturate under high load conditions — a critical feature for power systems, current limiting reactors, and industrial switching environments.

Gapped inductors differ from air-core or conventional wound coils because the magnetic core has a deliberate discontinuity (air or non-magnetic gap) that reduces core permeability. That reduction lowers the inductance value but greatly enhances the component’s ability to tolerate large continuous currents and store magnetic energy without saturating.
