A 30 µH, 400 Hz, single-phase, 200 A inductor is a high-power magnetic component designed to operate reliably under very high current conditions. An intentional air gap in the magnetic core prevents saturation and ensures the inductance remains stable as current increases. This design also allows the inductor to store magnetic energy efficiently, which is important in low-frequency, high-current applications.

The relatively low inductance value indicates use in power electronics rather than signal processing. Common applications include power converters, motor drives, and 400 Hz electrical systems used in industrial and aerospace environments. To handle 200 A, the winding is made from large cross-section copper conductors or multiple parallel paths to reduce resistive and AC losses. Core material and cooling are carefully chosen to manage heat and minimize losses, resulting in a robust and reliable power inductor.
